Hey,
Thanks for the compliment on my painting. First I sketched out the figure. Believe it or not, I saw her in the wood pattern in my bedroom wall. It sort of jumped out of the grain at me. I jotted it in a sketchbook and much later did the painting. I used charchol pencil to get that dramatic line. Then I watered down some acrylic paint and did some blue washes over the canvas. Then I took different size cans and cirlce shaped objects and dipped them in colered washes, and layed them down randomly. Later I wnt over those circles and highlighted areas that I thought could use more color. The last step was to take some elmers glue watered down and just poured it around the canvas. That gave it the "movement". I had to go over the glue with a gesso wash to bring out the white even more where it needed it,. Thats about it. I left it unframed and thought it ws unfinished for years. Finally when I moved back to Toledo I had a spot for it and hung it in my apt. and it looked awesome to me, even unframed. Now i love it.
I'm going to post a pic on my blogger now with that picture I promised you with te doggels. Sorry it took so long.
